News for October 3, 2019

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.
Ecclesiastes 3:1
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Since 2015, Faith Community Church has had the privilege of providing worship and ministry space for Nueva Esperanza. The Lord is now directing Nueva Esperanza to begin a new stage of expanding their ministry by relocating to Highpoint Church in Naperville, beginning October 27.
A few months ago, the pastors of Highpoint Church met with Pastor Al and invited Nueva Esperanza to begin worshipping at Highpoint with the additional aim of beginning Spanish-speaking services at their satellite campuses (Wheaton, North Aurora, and Bolingbrook). After seeking the Lord’s direction, the leadership of Nueva Esperanza has accepted the invitation.
There are multiple benefits involved for Nueva Esperanza, including more church planting opportunities, more physical space in which to do ministry, and access to all the resources that partnering with Highpoint has to offer. Conversely, Highpoint is excited to commission Al and the Nueva Esperanza community to be their Spanish-speaking congregation.
On October 20, Pastor Al will visit our service to share more about this significant change as they move forward into the calling God has for them.
Meanwhile, the elders and I are anticipating that this will open up additional opportunities for us to enhance and grow the ministry of our church as we seek to be a congregation faithful to the calling of reaching our community with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Upcoming Events
Saturday, October 5: Church Work Morning (9 am-noon)
On Saturday we will get our hands dirty in tending to our church building. Bring a rake, gardening tools, and saws (if you have them) and join us for a fun morning of improving our church property.

Sunday, October 6: Lord’s Supper
Please prepare your hearts with me as we come to the Lord’s Table together this Sunday, October 6. Our sermon text comes from Philippians 3:12-16, where Paul calls us to “press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”

As always, please feel free to call or email me with any questions.

In Christ,

Pastor Rhett
