Midweek Update: March 10, 2021

Dear Faith Community Church Family,

At several key points in the book of Acts Luke tells us that the Word of God was continuing to “increase” or “multiply” (Acts 6:7; 12:24; 19:20). In other words, the Word of God was powerfully drawing people to faith and transforming lives as the Gospel spread from community to community throughout the ancient world. The Word of God, empowered by the Holy Spirit, is an unstoppable power in the book of Acts (and today!). I’ve been greatly encouraged over these last weeks as I’ve heard from many of you about how God is bearing more and more fruit in our church through the reading and study of his Word. Praise God for the way he is continuing to use the Word of God to bear fruit in our community as we seek to know him and to live obediently to the Scriptures.

This Sunday we welcome Teaching Elder Doug O’Donnell, who will share the Word of God with us from Ecclesiastes 2:1-11.

Church Directory Update!

We are updating our church directory and will soon offer two forms of the directory: a hardcopy binder (as we have been using) and a digital version available online and as an app.

There are two ways to update your information:

  1. Fill out the online form, available in your email.
  2. Fill out the paper form available in the narthex and place in the designated box.

In addition to completing the information update form, we ask that you send us a recent photograph to include in the directory. Please email photographs to the church. Bryan Van Zanten has volunteered to take photographs for anyone who would like to have one taken for the directory. Please email or call Rosa Matos and she will contact Bryan to set up a time to do so.

Holy Week and Sunday Morning Service Change Beginning Sunday, April 4

Be sure to mark your calendars for the Good Friday service on April 2 at 6:30pm. Additionally, based on the significant decrease of COVID-19 positivity rates in our region and the continued distribution of the COVID-19 vaccines, we will be transitioning to one Sunday morning service beginning Easter Sunday, April 4. The service will be at 9:30am. Our capacity in the Worship Center will be set at fifty, with overflow seating available. We will continue to offer the service via livestream. Beginning with our Good Friday service, we will also have live music at our services. The elders continue to stay informed regarding the relevant COVID-19 data for our region and will make adjustments to these plans if circumstances change significantly before April 4.

Prayer Requests

Steve Roberts: Steve Roberts is home from the hospital and is taking antibiotics for an infection in his back. Please pray for rest and healing for our brother.

Jerry Juzwiak: Praise God that Jerry’s leg is continuing to heal; he will be able to return home from DuPage Care Center on Thursday.

In Him,

Pastor Rhett
