April 14, 2021 Midweek Update

Dear Faith Community Church Family,

On the day of Pentecost, when the Holy Spirit descended on the disciples, three thousand people became followers of Jesus. What a day! As a diversity of pagans and Jewish people alike joined the people of God, certain common features began to distinguish these ethnically diverse followers of “the Way” (Christianity). In Acts 2:42-47, the sermon text for this Sunday, Luke gives us the essentials of the Christian community: devotion to the teaching of the Scriptures, fellowship, generosity, prayer, and evangelism. As the Spirit moved in this new community, these elements winsomely attracted interest from outsiders. This led to even more people coming to know Jesus as their Savior. As Luke tells us, “And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved.” (Acts 2:47)

Thank you for your prayers as the Austins traveled to Alabama this past week. We had a wonderful time and are thankful to the Lord for the opportunity to visit family and friends.

Church Cleanup Day (aka “Donut Day”): Saturday, April 24 (9:00am-Noon)

On Saturday, April 24, we will have our “Donut Day” from 9:00am until noon. Our property team leaders, Mark Wissing and Phyl Holt are planning a morning to spread mulch, pull weeds, clean windows, and of course, enjoy donuts. Hope you can join us!

Prayer Requests:

Hildi VanderVeen (Beth Wright’s Mom): Praise God that the Wright’s have found a long-term care facility for Beth’s mom. Pray for strength for Hildi and for a smooth transition as she moves into a new living arrangement.

In Him,

Pastor Rhett
