Dear Faith Community Church Family,
This past Sunday we heard the words of the risen Christ to his people: Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent. (Revelation 3:19). Our Lord loves us too much not to discipline us. When he disciplines us, he convicts us of sin by his Word and by the working of the Holy Spirit within us, and he leads us to repent of our sin so that we might walk in the freedom of forgiveness and experience greater joy in our Christian life. Discipline is temporarily painful, but it results in the transformation of our character and in a deeper relationship with Jesus. Hebrews 12:11 says, “For the moment all discipline seems painful rather than pleasant, but later it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.” Do not close your heart to this training in discipline. It is the Lord’s path to transformation and to deeper communion with him. The Lord is preparing us to dwell with him in his presence forever.
Prayerfully prepare your heart to come before the Lord for worship this Sunday as we continue in Revelation 3:14-22.
