Dear Brothers and Sisters,
In this Sunday’s text, we see Jesus’ power and superiority over all powers and principalities in the account of the sons of Sceva in Acts 19:8-20. First, we see how the Holy Spirit empowered Paul to heal the sick and to release people from demonic oppression. Second, we see the gravity of violating the third commandment in the misuse of God’s name for personal power and gain. Finally, we see how Jesus has victory over demons and all elements of spiritual darkness. No matter the opposition, Luke tells us, the Word of God will continue “to increase and prevail mightily.”
I want to express my gratitude to everyone who worked together to provide hospitality for the Chicago Metro Presbytery as they were meeting at our church today. The Teaching and Ruling Elders of our presbytery felt warmly welcomed and grateful for the opportunity to meet in our church building. Thank you to all of you who cleaned, prepared rooms, and provided food for today’s presbytery meeting.

Pre-Service Prayer: Sundays, 9:00-9:20am; Room 3/4
Remember to join us in preparing for worship through prayer this Sunday morning. The pre-service prayer is a time of asking that God would magnify his name through our worship and bring transformation in our midst through the moving of the Holy Spirit and the preaching of his Word. We meet in room 3/4 from 9:00am to 9:20am.
Lenten Prayer Service: Wednesday, March 2 (6:30pm)

Our Lenten prayer service begins the 40-day Lenten season which concludes with celebrating the resurrection of our Lord on Easter Sunday. The service will be held at 6:30pm in the Worship Center.
