May 18, 2022 Midweek Update

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This past year we’ve endeavored to host a quarterly Community Lunch, which provides us with the opportunity to show hospitality to our friends, co-workers, and neighbors. My prayer is that our Community Lunches will be high points of the year for your friends and family; that they would come to experience the Gospel not only through hearing it but also through experiencing the warm fellowship that is a hallmark of Faith Community Church. This Sunday is our next Community Lunch. I encourage you to invite at least one person to join us for lunch at 11:00am, or of course for worship and lunch together.

This Sunday, our sermon text will be Acts 24:1-27.

A few more things to keep in mind:

Congregational Meeting (Sunday, June 12)

Mark your calendar for Sunday, June 12, when we will hold our congregational meeting following the worship service. During this time we will pray together and review the budget for the 2023 fiscal year. All church members are encouraged to attend.

Men’s Ministry Outing

The men’s ministry is looking forward to caravanning together to visit Volo car museum in June. We are asking men to let us know which date is preferable: June 11 or June 18. Please see the sheet in the narthex to indicate which time is best for you or contact the church office.

West Chicago Neighborhood Food Pantry Donation Drive

We are continuing to collect items for our local West Chicago food pantry. Please consider donating: toothpaste, toothbrushes, dish soap, deodorant, baby wipes, bath soap, shampoo, Kleenex, feminine products, laundry detergent, adult & children’s diapers. There is a box for our donations in the west coatroom by the mailboxes.

Prayer Requests

Wright Family: Please continue to pray for Dave and Kristi Wright as they recover from Covid and for Beth as she recovers from surgery.

Vander Molen Family: Please pray for Joan, Ena, Janny and Lee Vander Molen as they mourn the loss of Joan’s son, Gary (of Sonoma, CA), last week.

Karla and Gary Van Der Molen: Please pray for Gary and Karla as they continue to manage Karla’s ALS.

In Him,

Pastor Rhett
