Dear Faith Family,
What a wondrous God we serve! We witness his glories around us and His mighty deeds in our lives. We have wrapped up our study of Acts that was entitled “You will be my Witnesses”. On our very first week of journey through Acts over a year ago, Pastor Rhett encouraged us to see Jesus as our North Star. As we brought our study to a close, Pastor Rhett enjoined us to Stop, Speak, and Serve. We have seen God’s great compassion to us through Jesus Christ, and now we are His witnesses to this great compassion.
Pastor Don Johnson followed up this past Sunday by sharing from 1 Peter 2:1-12. When we reflect on our lives and experience restlessness, longing, and sickness, we ponder the question “Who am I?” We are living stones being built into God’s Holy Temple. We are a Chosen Race, a Royal Priesthood, and a Holy Nation; “a people for His own possession.”
Please continue to pray for Pastor Rhett as he serves in Les Cayes, Haiti. As Paul was sent out from the early church to be a witness of Jesus, so we have sent Pastor Rhett to serve the people of Haiti. Pray for his safety, health, and service.
This next Sunday Andy Iverson, a former missionary to New Zealand, will preach from Romans 5:15-21.
The Men’s and Women’s Bible Studies will not meet this week. Embracing Hope will meet at the Wierenga’s house on August 9 at 5pm and the Men’s Bible Study will resume at the LaBelle’s house on August 6 at 8am.
