Midweek Update: August 17, 2022

Dear Faith Community Church Family,

At our June congregational meeting I shared with you about a three year ministry vision which our church leadership has been prayerfully discussing over the course of many months. By God’s grace, we have seen growth in multiple areas in our church over these last several years. Naturally, we are eager to see our Gospel maturity continue to deepen. Our three year vision, Called to Flourish, will build upon our church’s purpose statement: We exist for the glory of Christ, the growth of his church, and the good of the community. We all want to see our church not simply bear occasional fruit, but to flourish!

On the morning of September 11, we will begin a three-week vision series focused on Ezekiel 17:22-24, the theme passage for our three year vision. This passage is a beautiful portrait of a flourishing tree, bearing fruit and providing nourishment for the nations. It is an image of Jesus and the abundant life he offers to us and to all people.

Additionally, mark your calendars for our vision night, to be held the evening of Sunday, September 11. The evening will include both a meal and a vision service. The meal will begin at 4:00pm and the vision service will begin at approximately 5:00pm. If you have friends or family who are looking for a new church home or are interested in hearing how God is working in the life of our congregation, we would be delighted to have them join us.

Since this is a special evening in the life of our church, we ask that you make every effort to attend. Consider it a family gathering! Though an RSVP is not required, if possible, please contact the church office to let us know if you will be attending and how many guests will be joining you. I’m looking forward to prayerfully pursuing together God’s direction and leading of our church this fall and beyond.

This Sunday we continue our series The Acts of History. Our sermon this Lord’s Day is entitled “The Christ of the Kingdom.”
