February 15 Midweek Update

February 15 Midweek Update

Brothers and Sisters,

Have you ever set off on a trip that ended up looking very different from what you had initially expected? Perhaps you left your house with expectations of making your arrival in record time, only by the end of the day to find yourself on the side of the road with a flat tire.

God’s ways are often different than our ways. In fact, in our passage for Sunday, we read that it was fitting that Jesus, the founder of our salvation, should be made “perfect through suffering” (Hebrews 2:10). In other words, the means of salvation which our God had ordained included the suffering of his own Son. But through it all, through the death and resurrection of Jesus, God was bringing salvation to the whole world.

This Sunday we continue in our series The Glory of Christ, turning our attention to Hebrews 2:10-18.

Lenten Prayer Service (Wednesday, February 22 at 6:30pm)

As part of our Called to Flourish vision, we are committing ourselves to kingdom prayer–prayer that asks the Lord to use us to further the advancement of the gospel in our neighborhoods and community. Next Wednesday, we will hold our Lenten prayer service. Join us Wednesday February 22 at 6:30pm as we seek the Lord together in prayer and prepare our hearts to celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.
