Dear Faith Community Church Family,
In Hebrews 4:9-10, we are given a beautiful summary of the gospel message: “So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God, for whoever has entered God’s rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.” The gospel message calls us to stop trying to impress God with our “good works”, and to rest instead in the finished work of Jesus Christ. Our good works are not the basis for our salvation, they flow from a heart that has been transformed by the power of the gospel. This present (and future) rest that Hebrew 4:9-10 speaks about can only be found in Jesus. This week, rest in the Lord, knowing that your sins are forgiven, not because of any works you have done, but because Jesus Christ fully accomplished his work of salvation on our behalf. This week we continue our series The Glory of Christ. Our passage for this Sunday is Hebrews 4:1-13.

New Adult Sunday School Series Beginning March 26
What does it look like for there to be meaningful, spiritually deep relationships in the church, and how do we develop these kinds of relationships within the body of Christ? Adult Sunday school will take a two-week break (March 12 and 19), then on March 26 we will begin a new 8-week series in the book Caring For One Another: Eight Ways to Cultivate Meaningful Relationships by Ed Welch. Each brief chapter will be read together in class; no reading is required beforehand. The cost of the book is $5.00. If you would like a copy, please sign the sheet available in the narthex.
