Dear Faith Community Church Family,
There are many characters in the Bible that stand out to us: Abraham, Moses, David, Solomon, Peter, and Paul (to name a few). One character that probably doesn’t spring to the forefront of your mind is Melchizedek, though Melchizedek is obviously important to the author of Hebrews. This mysterious man was simultaneously a king and a priest. In Genesis 14 he pronounced a blessing on Abraham. In Hebrews 7, we see that Melchizedek is more than just an obscure Old Testament figure; this priest and king actually prefigured and pointed to the greatness of Jesus Christ, the eternal high priest and king who reigns over all of creation. This Sunday we will turn our attention to Hebrews 7:1-10 as we behold the greatness of Jesus through the lens of the priest-king Melchizedek.

Housing Need for Wheaton Graduate School Couple
Lawrence Owinya and his wife Simple are a Ugandan ministry couple who will be attending Wheaton Graduate School this fall. The Owinyas serve with ReachingFrontiers and plan to arrive in July in order to begin classes in August. The couple are seeking a room in a house to rent during their two year program at Wheaton. If you are able to help support the Owinyas in this way, please contact Pastor Rhett.
