Midweek Update June 28, 2023

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

On Sunday, I shared this quote with you from Charles Spurgeon, the 19th century English preacher: “When God writes His law in our hearts, He writes that which will never be blotted out. Once let Him take the pen in His hand, and begin to write, ‘Holy to Yahweh’ (Zech 14:20), right across a man’s heart, and the devil himself can never remove that sacred line.” One of the great benefits of the New Covenant is that the Lord gives his people a new heart, a heart that desires to live in joyful obedience to our God. Once he has written his law upon our hearts and given us his Holy Spirit to dwell within us, we can be assured that he will never remove them. We belong to him forever. This is a wonderful blessing of the New Covenant. On Sunday we continue our series in Hebrews and will be turning our attention to Hebrews 9:1-10. I am eager to meet with you to worship our God together.

This Sunday we will join together to celebrate communion. Please prepare your hearts beforehand for this covenantal meal through setting aside time for prayer and confession.
