Midweek Update July 19, 2023

Dear Brothers and Sisters:

This past Sunday Pastor Rhett preached from Hebrews 9:23-28 about the sacrifice Christ offered once and for all. Through His sacrifice we are guaranteed that Jesus intercedes for us, we are guaranteed forgiveness of sin, and we are guaranteed that Jesus will return for His people. Pastor asked us the question: “Are you longing for the return of Christ?” Our worship this next Sunday will be a wonderful way to help us answer that question. We will be welcoming Rev. Phil Smith to preach from Revelation 2:1-7 on “Does Your Heart Need a Tune-Up?” As we toil and endure, we are exhorted in this passage to remember our first love. We must recall the passion we had for our savior when he first called us and saved us. Let us gather on the Lord’s Day to worship and grow together.

If you are unable to join us in person, the livestream link is: https://youtube.com/live/i4sVkZvKBr0

If you have a pastoral concern or matter that needs to be addressed while Pastor Rhett is on vacation, please feel free to email one of the elders.

Women’s Ministry  Update

We want to thank Amy Paglia for her many years in leadership of the Women’s Ministry. Leadership of the Women’s Ministry will be transitioning to Jenny  Johnson, to whom we are also grateful.

Renovation Committee Update

The lights in the hallways, classrooms, offices, and basement have been retrofitted to LED lighting. Due to Com Ed incentives, we were able to have installed over $10,000 worth of equipment for $1,800. This project should save the church about $1,000 a year in electricity. These lights have been fitted with sensors, so they will dim after 30 minutes and shut off after an hour. Do not be surprised if you walk in a room and the lights go on! The lights in the Mission Center have been ordered and are in the process of being replaced.

Prayer Requests

Karla and Gary Van: thank you for your perseverance in prayer for Karla, as she and Gary continue to navigate her ALS.

Jim: Phyl’s brother-in-law Jim is suffering from stage 4 cancer. Pray for his comfort and strength.

Praise to Our Lord and Savior,

Tim and Larry
