Dear Faith Community Church Family,
In Ezekiel 17:22-24, we read these words: “And all the trees of the field shall know that I am the Lord; I bring low the high tree, and make high the low tree, dry up the green tree, and make the dry tree flourish. I am the Lord; I have spoken, and I will do it.” God makes the dry tree flourish in order to make his name and glory known everywhere (see also Philippians 2:10). The ultimate purpose of Faith Community Church’s three year Called to Flourish Vision and Vision Campaign is to lift up the name of our Lord and to glorify him.
Over these past several weeks, we’ve had the exciting opportunity to launch our Vision Campaign, our church’s focused effort to raise funds in the areas of property improvement, congregational growth and community outreach, and financial health. If you haven’t had a chance to watch the Vision Campaign presentation video, click here.
In preparation for our Commitment Sunday on October 8, this Sunday we will distribute a brief, one-page Vision Campaign pledge form. We encourage you to be praying about how the Lord would have you contribute to the campaign over this next week. On Sunday, October 8, we will have the opportunity to submit our pledges, and our worship service will focus upon praising God for his faithfulness and continued provision for our church.
Our sermon passage this Sunday is Hebrews 12:1-3, where Christians are called to put off sin and to set their eyes on Jesus, “the founder and perfecter of our faith.”

Finally, we will celebrate communion together this Sunday. Please take time to prepare your heart beforehand in prayer and confession before we come together for this covenantal meal.
This Saturday: Fall Cleanup (“Donut Day”) (9:00am-12:00pm)
The fall cleanup day at church will be this Saturday, September 30 from 9:00am to 12:00pm. Please join us for fellowship and a chance to beautify our church grounds for the fall.
This Sunday: Adult Sunday School Begins
This fall, the adult Sunday school class will study The Gospel in Life: Grace Changes Everything by Timothy Keller. This eight week study explores the many implications of the gospel for our lives, our church, and our community. There is no outside reading for the class (though there are optional at-home lessons). Each week will include a brief video teaching by Timothy Keller followed by discussion, Scripture reflection, and prayer. The book costs $9.00. Donations for the book are accepted, but not required. Please place donations in the offering plate.
