Midweek Update: October 4, 2023

Dear Faith Community Church Family,

One of the clearest and theologically rich passages on generosity in the Scripture is found in 2 Corinthians 8-9. Paul writes 2 Corinthians for two main reasons: First, to respond to people who were saying Paul had suffered too much in his ministry to be a true Apostle (Paul responds by saying that suffering is the means by which God achieves his purposes and makes his glory known!). The second reason Paul writes is to encourage the Corinthian believers to give generously to a financial gift which will be sent to care for the believers in Jerusalem.

The beautiful passage in 2 Corinthians 8-9 sets generosity and giving within the larger framework of the gospel and the glory given to God through biblical generosity. This is our reason for giving generously: God will be lifted up and his name praised!

This Sunday is our Vision Campaign Commitment Sunday. We will gather together to praise God for his financial provision and faithfulness to our congregation. The sermon passage for Sunday is 2 Corinthians 9:6-15.

On Sunday, we encourage you to place your campaign pledge in the basket as you walk into the Worship Center. During our service, we will have a time of prayer devoted to thanking the Lord for his provision.

If you have not received a campaign pledge form, a pdf version of the form is attached.  We will also have additional copies of the form available in the narthex on Sunday. If you would like to submit a campaign form through our website, you can do so here.
