Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Christmas is upon us! This coming Sunday is both the fourth Sunday of Advent and Christmas Eve. On Sunday morning, we’ll light the fourth candle in our Advent wreath, remembering the love that motivated God the Father to send his Son into our world as a human to be our Savior and King. Our text for Sunday morning’s worship is Haggai 2:20-23.

Our Christmas Community Lunch on Sunday was such an encouragement to me as I know it was to you. It was wonderful to hold our first official gathering in our newly renovated Mission Center. Thank you once again to Tim Wierenga, the Renovation Committee, our Property Team leader Mark Wissing, and all others who contributed their time and effort and helped make this project a success!
Christmas Eve Candlelight Service (6:30pm)
In addition to our usual morning worship at 9:30am on Sunday, we will also hold our Candlelight Christmas Eve service at 6:30pm. Join us as we celebrate Christ’s birth through Scripture readings, prayer, and music.

Advent Giving Project
This year our Advent Giving Project benefits the Haitian orphanages, churches, and schools overseen by El Shaddai Ministries International and Chicago Friends of Haiti. Due to the political crisis in Haiti, feeding the children in the orphanages, schools, and churches has been a challenge. The Chicago Metro Presbytery is sponsoring an Advent drive to raise funds to provide food. You can donate by placing your check in the offering plate or by giving through our church’s website. Please indicate that the donation is for the Advent Giving Project.
Wednesday Morning Women’s Bible Study
The Wednesday morning ladies Bible study will meet on Wednesday, December 27 at 10:00am to watch the conclusion of “The Nativity Story.”
Gary and Karla Van Der Molen: Pray for Gary and Karla as they attend to Karla’s ALS.
Jean Bultema: Please continue to pray for Jean as she recovers from surgery following a broken hip.
Joyfully in Christ,
