Midweek Update: December 31, 2023

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

It was a joy to worship with you on Christmas Eve at both our Sunday morning and Sunday evening services. I hope that you had a wonderful Christmas celebrating the coming of our Savior while being with family and friends.

This Lord’s Day we will have a guest preacher, Rev. Brian Martin. Brian is Associate Pastor of Pastoral Care at our sister church, Christ Presbyterian (PCA) in Wheaton. He will be sharing God’s Word from Colossians 2:6-15 with a sermon entitled “The Way, the Truth, and the Life.”

Please note that this Sunday we will hold our regular pre-service prayer at 9:00am in room 3/4. Fellowship time will take place following the service in the Mission Center. Sunday school for all ages will resume on January 14.

On Sunday, January 7, we will welcome back Rev. Phil Smith, president of First Love International, as he preaches from Revelation 8:1-5.

Last Call: Advent Giving Project

This year our Advent Giving Project benefits the Haitian orphanages, churches, and schools overseen by El Shaddai Ministries International and Chicago Friends of Haiti. Due to the political crisis in Haiti, feeding the children in the orphanages, schools, and churches has been a challenge. The Chicago Metro Presbytery is sponsoring an Advent drive to raise funds to provide food. You can donate by placing your check in the offering plate or by giving through our church’s website. Please indicate that the donation is for the Advent Giving Project.

Congregational Meeting: Sunday, January 28

We will hold our January congregational meeting in the Worship Center following the morning service on Sunday, January 28. All members are encouraged to attend.

Prayer Requests

Mike: Pray for a successful bladder surgery on Thursday, January 4.

Gary and Karla: Pray for Gary and Karla as they attend to Karla’s ALS.

Jean: Please continue to pray for Jean as she recovers from surgery following a broken hip.

In Christ,

Pastor Rhett
