Midweek Update March 6, 2024

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Sunday evening I had a wonderful time joining you for pizza and prayer at our Kingdom Prayer Gathering. It was such an encouragement to pray with you as brothers and sisters in Christ that the Lord would transform our community by the power of the gospel and would use our church to reach our neighbors for Christ.

Our sermon passage for this Sunday, Mark 2:13-17, teaches us that the good news is for all people. After dining with “tax collectors and sinners,” Jesus tells the scandalized scribes, “I came not to call the righteous, but sinners.” What a wonderful truth! It was for sinners that Jesus came and preached and died and rose again. Jesus’s words ought to both humble us and cause us to rejoice in the abundant grace we have been given in Christ!

Don’t forget to set your clocks forward one hour this Saturday evening.

Evangelism Cohort Informational Meeting: Sunday, March 17

Jesus calls his followers to become “fishers of men.” Do you want to grow in your ability and confidence to share the gospel with others? Would you like to learn how to do so in an encouraging environment with fellow church members? The purpose of the Evangelism Cohort is to help our people grow in their ability to communicate the good news, to pray with and for one another in this endeavor, and to practice evangelism. All those interested in being part of the cohort are invited to attend an informational meeting on Sunday, March 17 at 11:00am in room 3/4.

In Him,

Pastor Rhett
