Midweek Update: April 10, 2024

Midweek Update: April 10, 2024

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

When you hear the word “Sabbath,” what comes to mind? Does it evoke a sense of joy and thankfulness in your heart? Or does it–as it does for many Christians–conjure up ideas of rules, regulations, and restrictions (“I can do _____ on the Sabbath, but not _____.”)?

In our passage for Sunday, Mark 2:23-3:6, Jesus says, “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath” (Mark 2:27). Our Creator bestows the Sabbath as a gift. This Sunday come and get a renewed vision of the Sabbath, a day for worship and refreshment.

This Sunday: Evangelism Cohort Begins

Our Evangelism Cohort begins this Sunday! This spring (April 14-June 2) the cohort will meet to discuss Matt Smethurst’s Before You Share Your Faith during the Sunday school hour, followed by lunch and a time of focus on the three areas of prayer, planning, and practice. The cohort gathering will finish each Sunday by 1:30pm. The book discussion, during the Sunday school hour, is open to all, even if not participating in the cohort. The book is $4.00 and will be distributed this Sunday.
