Midweek Update: June 12, 2024

Dear Faith Community Family,

What an incredible event we had this past Saturday! Attendance and engagement exceeded all
our expectations. Thank you to those who meticulously planned and executed the event, and
all our volunteers. This includes Dave’s band “Front Row” for setting a festive mood.
Celebrating 50 years at Faith Community is off to a great start.

The Elders continue to interview and evaluate candidates for the Pastor of Community
Outreach position. We had a wonderful in person visit from Jonathan Keller this past Sunday
and we will look forward to a second visit by Jonathan on June 30.

Pastor Rhett Austin is at the PCA General Assembly and will be returning later in the week. This
coming Sunday we will welcome to the pulpit guest preacher Ian Hammond. His sermon will be
on Luke 18: 9-14 and entitled “Undermining Contempt”. If you cannot join us in person, please
join us on the livestream at https://youtube.com/live/p-Tb7XkbV8Y

If you have a pastoral concern or matter that needs to be addressed while Pastor Rhett is on is
at General Assembly, please feel free to email our elders, or contact Tim
Wierenga  or Larry LaBelle.

Please Return Caring Network Baby Bottles
Remember that this Sunday is Father’s Day, and that is the end of our Baby Bottle Drive. Bring
your baby bottles filled with cash or checks to be placed in the bassinet during the service.
Thank you for your enthusiastic response to providing resources to our local Caring Network
through our baby bottle drive!

Congregational Meeting: Sunday, June 23
Mark your calendars for Sunday, June 23, when we will hold our congregational meeting
following the worship service. During this time, we will pray together and review the budget for
the 2025 fiscal year. All church members are encouraged to attend.

Prayer Requests
Karla Van Der Molen: Continue to pray for encouragement for Karla and Gary as they attend to
Karla’s ALS.
Steve Roberts: Please pray for continued recovery from pneumonia.

Praise to Our Lord and Savior,
Elders Tim Wierenga and Larry LaBelle
