Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Our passage for this week comes from Mark 9:1-13, which you commonly know as Jesus’ transfiguration. When think of Jesus, we thankfully think of His humanity and His compassion toward us. We can miss, though, that Jesus is the Word of God, very God of very God. He, too, is resplendent with glory as are the Father and the Spirit. The Jesus who bent down to earth and weeps with us is the same Jesus who is the glorious Son of the Most High King. His glory is bewildering to us, but it’s also a comfort to us. The glory of the Son of God draws our hearts to rest in His might and Lordship over all creation.

Music for Two Real Concert: Saturday, November 23 (6:30 pm)
There will be a chamber music concert Saturday, November 23, at 6:30 pm in the Worship Center. The theme will be Music for Two: Mozart & More, featuring Yuriy Geyer on violin and Jake Muzzy on cello. Advent Christmas Decorations
We are looking forward to this Advent Season as we “deck the halls” appropriately for worship and fellowship! Anyone that is available to help is welcome to join us this Sunday, November 24th around noon (after Sunday School). Lunch will be provided (a $5 donation would be appreciated) and we can get to work welcoming Christmas together! Please RSVP Amy Paglia for a lunch count.
Advent Devotional and Schedule
Advent is quickly approaching with plenty of opportunities for you to grow in your hope for the Lord and for you to invite your neighbors to come and hear the Good News that the Savior of the world has already come! Our Advent devotional this year will be Paul David Tripp’s Everyday Gospel Christmas Devotional, and we will have copies available this Sunday.
Our theme during Advent this year will be “For Us and For Our Salvation,” during which Pastor Rhett will use sections of the Apostle’s Creed to tie into the normal Advent themes of hope, longing, and joy.
