Dear Faith Community Family,
A child’s imagination is a wonderful thing. They may ask questions about things we have never thought or considered. They may even want to talk about things we consider impossible. A child’s innocence may remind us of the wonder of Christmas that we have lost in the hustle and bustle of the season. Pastor Rhett, in his sermon “For Us and For Our Salvation” this past Sunday, pointed out that God loves us more than we can imagine. Use this season to be reminded how God has demonstrated His love to us by sending His Son, to seek and save the lost.
This coming Sunday is the third Sunday of Advent. Pastor Rhett will be preaching from Matthew 16:27, Mark 13:26, Luke 1:32-33, Acts 10:42, 2 Timothy 4:1, Hebrews 1:8, and 2 Peter 1:11. We will have Fellowship time before the service at 9am with treats in the Narthex. Men’s White Elephant Party: December 14 at 9am
Calling all men of the Church! We will have our annual White Elephant Breakfast on December 14 at 9am in the Mission Center. Do you have a fun item to share with someone else? Wrap it and bring it; the guideline for giving is to find something in your house that you would like to have go to someone else’s house. It is as easy as that! Join in on the fellowship.
Blue Christmas: Thursday, December 19th from 7pm-8pm
For many folks, Christmas is a time of joy and fun with the family. For many others, Christmas is a time of grief as we remember lost loved ones or as we undergo hardships. On Thursday, December 19 we will have a “Blue Christmas Service” at 7pm to lament the hardship of the season together and turn to the hope of the Gospel toward a God who hears our grief and has given us Christ to rid the world of all grief and evil. Invite your neighbors!
Christmas Poinsettias | $12
Christmas poinsettias will be on display in the Worship Center beginning December 15th until Christmas Eve. If you would like to participate in decorating the church in this way, please sign up in the narthex, indicating how many plants you would like. You may put your payment in the offering plate, with an indication that it is for Christmas poinsettias or you can do so online.

Dennis Dobbs: Continued health concerns related to fluid on the lungs and praise for good news about his aortic aneurysm.
