Dear Faith Community Church Family,
Palm Sunday is this Sunday! We may have already heard from the text on the triumphal entry, but it is always good to remember that our Lord rode into Jerusalem as the king of not only Zion but also the whole earth. Our text for Palm Sunday will be Mark 12:35-40, when Jesus confounds the scribes by teaching that He, being David’s son, is somehow David’s Lord. Reflect on how not only Jesus could be the promised Messiah but also the one who would conquer sin and death by the power of His Word (rather than the sword).

Good Friday Service: Friday, April 18th at 6:30pm, prayer vigil to follow
Our Good Friday service will be at 6:30pm on Friday, April 18th. It will be a time where we remember our Lord’s crucifixion and how His death brought us life! Following the service, we will have a 10 minute break and then have a prayer vigil for the Easter season from 7:30pm-9:30pm. Feel free to attend the vigil for as long as you’d like to pray, whether 10 minutes or all 2 hours.
Birth Announcement: Anaiyah and Mila Koh (daughters of Joanna and Meng)
Joanna (Wierenga) and Meng Koh had their twins earlier this morning! Anaiyah Xin-Hui Koh and Mila Xin-Ai Koh have arrived and ready to take on their new lives. Pray for Mila who has fluid in her lungs still, and pray for wisdom and strength for Joanna and Meng as they raise their daughters in the nurture and wisdom of the Lord.
Easter Explored: April 27, May 4, and May 18 at 5pm in Room 1
More than bunnies and lilies, Easter is the proclamation for Christians everywhere that Jesus is not dead but alive and reigning on His heavenly throne even now. Do you or a neighbor, co-worker, friend, or family member have questions or any curiosity about why Christians care about Easter and the resurrection so much? Easter Explored, on April 27th, May 4th, and May 18th at 5pm in Room 1, is the perfect chance to discuss what all the Easter fuss is about. Dinner is provided! Prayer Drive: Saturday, May 3rd from 10am-12pm
Back by popular demand, the prayer drive is on this year on Saturday, May 3rd from 10am-12pm. We will meet at the church at 10am, and we will follow a route to pray over the many areas involved in our town. More information to come as we get closer to that date.
Easter Invite Canvassing: Help Wanted!
To help our neighbors hear about our upcoming Holy Week services (and even pray with them!), Pastor Rhett and Jonathan will be handing out Easter invite cards door-to-door on the afternoons of April 14 and April 16 from 2-4pm. We simply want to let the folks around our church know that 1) our services are happening and they are invited and 2) that the church wants to minister to them as much as we can. Let Jonathan know if you’d like to come on any of these days (or possibly other days!) to hand out invites.

If you would like to order an Easter Lily, please sign up on the sheet in the narthex. They are $12.00 and you may take them home following the Easter Sunday Service.
Prayer Requests
Phyl Holt: Please pray for encouragement and healing for Phyl Holt as she continues to heal from a stroke in Pine View Care Center in St. Charles.
Gary and Karla Van Der Molen: Please pray for strength for Gary after a recent hospitalization; continue to pray for encouragement and provision for Gary and Karla as they attend to Karla’s ALS.
Joanna & Meng Koh: Pray for wisdom and strength for Joanna and Meng as they start their parenting, and for Mila who is still in the NICU with fluid in her lungs.
