Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The spring colors are in full bloom all around us, but if you turn on the news, you might think that the world is falling apart leaf by leaf. Thankfully, in this Sunday’s text (Mark 13:1-13), Jesus teaches us that tumultuous times are to be expected. Wars and dissent even within families are but the beginning of the end of all things. Take heart, though, because the one who will bring about the end of all things is the one who is your Blessed Savior – Jesus Himself! He who has authority to judge the world as authority over all life and death; He has all authority to declare you righteous because He gave you His righteousness to stand in the day of judgment.

Karla Van Der Molen Funeral: Friday, May 16 (2pm; Worship Center)
Our dear sister Karla Van Der Molen went to be with the Lord this past Sunday morning. A family-only visitation will be at 11am, followed by a visitation for all from 12pm-2pm. Her funeral service will begin at 2pm in the Worship Center. A special fellowship time in her honor will be on Sunday, May 18th (more information to follow). In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the DuPage Art League, ALS United, or to Faith Community Church.
Easter Explored: This Sunday and May 18 (5pm; Room 1)
It’s not too late to invite others to Easter Explored! Do you or a neighbor, co-worker, friend, or family member have questions or any curiosity about why Christians care about Easter and the resurrection so much? Men’s Bible Study: Meet at the Church (8:00am; Room 1)
Our beloved elder, Larry LaBelle, is enjoying vacation visiting his family with Pat for the next few weeks. While Larry is away, Men’s Bible Study will meet at the church (room 1) with Jonathan and Dan Kok leading the discussion.
Men’s Lunch: Wednesday, May 14
All men are invited to the Men’s Lunch on Wednesday, May 14 at noon. The lunch will be held at Hawthorne’s Backyard in West Chicago (1200 W Hawthorne Ln, West Chicago, IL 60185).
Baby Shower Brunch for the Owinya Family: Saturday, May 17 (10am)
All ladies are invited to attend the baby shower at FCC on Saturday, May 17 (10am) for Simple Owinya. Please bring a brunch dish to share. RSVP to Donna Siefert or Jackie Huggins. Simple is registered at Target under the name Lydia Simple.
Transportation Needed:
Drivers are needed to assist with rides to church for some of our members. If you would like to volunteer to be a driver on Sunday mornings, please contact Dennis Dobbs.
