Dear Brothers and Sisters,
When was the last time you had an all-nighter? Maybe you are past the days of staying up late to finish some work, and maybe the weather or little aches keep you up much of the night. In our passage this week (Mark 13:28-37), Jesus continues to speak on the end times but calls us to a certain kind of sleeplessness. As we see the signs of the end of the age come upon us, He calls us to be awake and vigilant, never sleeping in our spiritual lives. Though our bodies need rest, we must keep watch over our faith and conduct so that we are found to be dutiful servants when the Lord comes back to judge the world. Take heart that, by God’s Spirit, He is working this kind of vigilance in you, sustaining you day by day!

Men’s Bible Study: No Bible Study on May 24; Continue on May 31st
There will be no Bible study on Saturday, May 24 in light of Memorial Day. We will meet on May 31st again at the church right before Donut Day.

Donut Day: May 31, 9am-noon
Come for a morning of fellowship and service as we work together to clean and restore the building and grounds of our church property. We’ll also have the best donuts in the county. Questions? Ask Mark Wissing.
Prayer Cookout – June 1 after Service
In lieu of Fellowship Time, Lawrence Owinya will lead us in a season of prayer for our Community Celebration on June 14th and for our surrounding neighborhood, followed by a meal. More details to come.
Community Celebration: June 14th, 11am-3pm
Our 2nd annual Community Celebration is coming up next month on Saturday, June 14th from 11am-3pm. We will have food trucks (free for anyone who comes!) and games for you and our community to enjoy while helping our community know that our church is here for them. We are still taking donations to offset the cost of some of these expenses. We are also looking for volunteers to supervise some of these activities. Let Jonathan know if you’d like to volunteer or with any other questions.
Transportation Needed:
Drivers are needed to assist with rides to church for some of our members. If you would like to volunteer to be a driver on Sunday mornings, please contact Dennis Dobbs.
Prayer Requests
Phyl Holt: Pray for encouragement and strength for Phyl as she continues to heal from a recent stroke and prepares to move back into her house.
Gary Van Der Molen: Pray for Gary and his family as they mourn Karla’s passing. Pray for Gary as he continues to undergo his own treatments.
Jonathan Keller: Praise the Lord that Jonathan is now officially licensed to preach the Gospel in our presbytery!
