Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Faith Community Church is blessed with a wonderful musical heritage. I praise God for the biblically robust music we sing each week in worship, chosen by our Worship Director, Dave Wright, and led by our music team.
One wonderful song we often sing in our worship service is 10,000 Reasons. The song is based on Psalm 103:
Bless the Lord, O my soul,
and all that is within me,
bless his holy name! (Psalm 103:1)
There are at least 10,000 reasons to sing praise to God and to bless his name, the greatest of which is the gift of Jesus Christ! We have been made members of God’s family so that we might “proclaim the excellencies of him who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light” (1 Peter 2:9).
This Sunday we’ll begin a three-week sermon series on 1 Peter 2:1-10, entitled Called to Proclaim His Excellencies. On Sunday, Jonathan Keller, our Director of Community Outreach, will preach on 1 Peter 2:1-3. Please prepare your hearts beforehand through prayer and confession to come together to celebrate the Lord’s Supper.
After the service, we’ll meet in the Mission Center for our Prayer Cookout! Details below.

Men’s Bible Study: Meet at the Church this Saturday
The Men’s Bible Study will meet this Saturday at the church in Room 1 (8:00am).
This Saturday: Donut Day (9am-noon)
Come for a morning of fellowship and service as we work together to clean and restore the building and grounds of our church property. We’ll also have the best donuts in the county. Questions? Ask Mark Wissing.
This Sunday: Prayer Cookout Following the Worship Service
Following Sunday’s service, we’ll have a Prayer Cookout. In lieu of Fellowship Time, Lawrence Owinya will lead us in a season of prayer for our Community Celebration on June 14th and for our surrounding neighborhood, followed by a meal. If you would like to bring a salad or dessert, but didn’t have the chance to sign up, please call or text Larry LaBelle.
Community Celebration: June 14th, 11am-3pm
Our 2nd annual Community Celebration is coming up on Saturday, June 14th from 11am-3pm. We will have food trucks (free for anyone who comes!) and games for you and our community to enjoy while helping our community know that our church is here for them. We are still taking donations to offset the cost of some of these expenses. We are also looking for volunteers to supervise some of these activities. There is a signup poster in the narthex, or you can let Jonathan know if you’d like to volunteer.
Blanket Ministry on Break During Summer
Blanket Ministry is on hiatus until September 8 at 10:30am.
Prayer Requests
Dennis Dobbs: Dennis’ heart surgery has been rescheduled for Monday, June 2; Please pray for a successful surgery and smooth recovery.
Nick Wetherington: Nick is marrying Lily Williams on May 31st; pray that the Lord would be present in all the details of the day and glorified in the marriage of Lily and Nick.
Tom Ollendorf: Tom is scheduled to have hernia surgery on June 12; pray for strength and a swift recovery.
Phyl Holt: Pray for encouragement and strength for Phyl as she continues to heal from a stroke.
Gary Van Der Molen: Pray for Gary and his family as they mourn Karla’s passing. Pray for Gary as he continues to undergo his own treatments.
Jonathan Keller: Praise the Lord that Jonathan is now officially licensed to preach the Gospel in our presbytery!
