Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The resurrection of Jesus Christ is the greatest history-changing, world-shaking event ever to take place. The coming and going of political leaders, the rise and fall of empires, the most momentous events of our day all pale in comparison to the resurrection of our Savior.
This Sunday we conclude our series Follow Me on the Gospel of Mark–and what a conclusion it is! Jesus has slain sin and secured our salvation through his own resurrection! This Sunday we turn our attention to the final narrative in Mark’s Gospel, Mark 16:1-8.

September 7: Fall Ministry Launch
On Sunday, September 7 we’ll have our Fall Ministry Launch. Not only will we kick off a three-week sermon series entitled “The Path to Discipleship,” but Pastor Rhett and Jonathan will also share in the service about what we’ll be focusing on as a congregation in the upcoming year. Following the service, we’ll hold our regular fellowship time with a Q&A with Bryan Van Zanten at 11:15am (location TBD). Bryan will share about his photography for “The Creation Project,” recently installed in the classroom hallway. Finally, at 5:00pm we’ll hold a potluck and Prayer Night led by our Prayer Ministry Team leader, Lawrence Owinya. More details regarding the potluck forthcoming.
Fall Bible Studies Begin Soon
Tuesday Evening Women’s Bible Study (7:00 pm) will be studying the Gospel of John using the book That You May Believe by Kathleen Nielson. The study will be meeting at Amy Paglia’s home starting Sept 16th.
Wednesday Morning Women’s Bible Study, 10:00 am. Study book TBD.
Men’s Saturday Morning Bible Study (8:00 am) will be studying the book Forgiven by Timothy Keller. The study meets in room 1 at the church and begins September 6.
Vision Campaign Giving Letters
This week you received a letter in your box from the elders which includes your original financial pledge to the Vision Campaign in addition to the amount you have given to date. Thank you for your continued faithfulness in fulfilling your campaign pledges which has continued to allow us to pursue our Vision Campaign goals.
Real Concerts – Saturday, August 23, 6:30pm

Sunday Morning Volunteers Needed
Nursery, kitchen, communion set up, video or sound tech, and more! Being a volunteer requires a commitment of only a couple of times a year. Prayer Requests and Praises
Vivian Wissing: Please pray for Vivian as she prepares for surgery on her neck, scheduled to take place August 28.
Pat Elam: Praise God for many years of wonderful ministry to those recovering from addictions and behavioral concerns. Pray for Pat as she is on hospice care for lung cancer; specifically that she would hold fast to the Lord in this stage of her life. Pray also for the board of Eleeo as they transition to the next phase of ministry.
Mike Horyn: Pray for Mike as he undergoes health tests.
Evalyn Tyler: Pray for strength and comfort for Evalyn and her family as she was recently put on hospice care.
