January 14 Midweek Update

January 14 Midweek Update

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Sometimes (actually, oftentimes) it is difficult to put the puzzle pieces of life together. Life rises and dips like the waves of the ocean. We might experience smooth sailing for a number of months, only then to be slammed with a storm we didn’t see coming–whether that storm is emotional, physical, relational, financial, or spiritual. Can we trust the providence of God in these times? Can we trust that he is still directing our lives and that all things really work out for the good of those who love him (Romans 8:28)?

Moses’s life was anything but smooth sailing. His life was sometimes fraught with disappointments, weariness, and struggle, but he also witnessed and experienced the great and mighty power and salvation of the Lord. God’s providence directed Moses’s life, and the same wonderful truth applies to us today. This Sunday we turn to Exodus 2:1-25 for our third sermon in the series The Lord Is My Strength.
