April 22 Midweek Update

April 22 Midweek Update

Dear Faith Community Church Family,

The Praying Church seminar is just a few days away! This Saturday, Keith Grant from SeeJesus will share with us what God’s Word teaches about the importance of prayer for the entire church, and he’ll show us what it looks like to put it into practice within our congregation. This seminar combines biblical teaching on prayer and concrete application.

If you haven’t yet registered, be sure to do so. The seminar costs $15.00 and will take place in the Worship Center (8:00am to 3:15pm). Lunch will be provided. Be sure to invite friends, family, and any others you believe would be interested in learning how to help their congregation become a church of fervent, Christ-exalting prayer.

We still need a few more people to volunteer to bring a salad or dessert or to assist with cleanup following the seminar. Please contact the church office if you would like to volunteer in one of these ways.

This Sunday, we continue our sermon series The Lord is My Strength as we turn our attention to Exodus 17:8-18:27.

Commitment Forms for African Outreach and Church Plant

Please continue to pray for Lawrence and Simple Owinya as they await a response regarding their religious worker visas. Our goal as a congregation is to raise $25,000 to support Lawrence to launch a gospel outreach and church plant to the African diaspora community of the western suburbs (approximately 1/3 of the cost). We are extending the time to submit the giving commitment form and will update you with a revised deadline as soon as we receive an answer regarding the visa application. Commitment forms are still available in the narthex.

This Sunday: Resurrection Explored (5pm; Room 1)

Resurrection Explored will conclude this Sunday (April 26; room 1). The discussion is led by Jonathan Keller and focuses on the meaning of Christ’s resurrection and ascension for our lives. Dinner is provided. Invite your friends, neighbors, and even strangers! Talk to Jonathan for more information.
