Our Story

1973 | Faith Community Church begins as a group of 20-30 believers gathering in the meeting room of the West Chicago State Bank

1974 | Faith Community Church grows to 82 members, joins the Reformed Church in America

1975 | The Rev. Harmon “Bud” Wierenga called as founding Pastor, worship begins in Turner School

1981 | First worship service held in our current building at 910 Main St

1985 | Rev. Ron (Margie) Sanford called to be second Pastor

1987 | Dave (Beth) Wright begin music ministry at FCC

2001 | The Faith Community Church building undergoes significant remodeling and expansion

2001 | Rev. Joe (Amy) Paglia installed as Associate Pastor of Discipleship and Youth

2005 | Rev. Shane (Wendy) Sterk called to be Co-Pastor

2009 | Rev. Travis (Juliana) Else called to be Co-Pastor

2011 | Parsonages are erected on Main St. for co-pastors

2017 | Rev. Nick Perrin and Rhett Austin called to serve as Transitional Senior and Associate Pastors, respectively

2018 | FCC joins the PCA, long-time members Larry LaBelle and Tim Wierenga ordained as Ruling Elders

2019 | Rhett Austin ordained and installed as Teaching Elder (Senior Pastor); Nick Perrin elected president of Trinity International University/Trinity Evangelical Divinity School
