Faith Kids

Faith Kids

We value kids in our community and are committed to cultivating an environment where they feel known, loved and respected.

Please note: during Illinois Phase 4 we are not offering distinct nursery childcare during our worship service. We have found that most children are able to enjoy/participate in our abbreviated worship services without difficulty. We understand children make noise and are not embarrassed or distracted by the joyful sounds our children make. Please know your children are always welcome at worship at Faith Community Church.

To partner with families in raising the next generation for a lifetime of knowing God, experiencing His love in community, reaching out to them with the Gospel of Jesus Christ and guiding them to follow Him in His mission.

Worship Service │9:30am

Children are welcome to stay with their parents for the duration of the service, or a nursery is available as a help to parents of children four and under at any time during the service.  We offer loving care and playtime with friends in a safe environment. Each nursery hour is staffed with one adult volunteer and one junior volunteer, all of whom have undergone annual training to provide the safest and best care available. All our adult volunteers are required to clear an annual background check.

Elementary age children join their parents and participate in the time of worship. There is a sense of awe children experience worshiping in community. If desired, we offer some quiet activity bags for younger children and worship notes for older children during the service.

Children’s Classes │11:00am

After a short time of coffee and conversation, we offer Sunday school classes in which we draw kids into an engaging and enjoyable encounter with the gospel using language familiar to them. We encourage children to learn to ask good questions in the discovery of who they are and who God is. And our hope is that their lives would be shaped dramatically by the gospel, building a foundation of love, wholeness, purpose, and hope that shapes their lives (and those around them) for years to come!

Child Protection Policy

We place a high priority on maintaining a safe and healthy environment for the children under our care. All adult children’s ministry staff and volunteers have submitted to a background check and have been educated in our policies prohibiting sexual, physical, mental and emotional misconduct. All children 10 years old and under must be signed in  by a parent or guardian. We use the organization Shepherd’s Watch for our safety training and checks.
